The opening paragraph:

"Your computer. In your pocket. Fast, uncluttered, secure, shell first, keyboard driven, encrypted filesystem, sane custom tools."

I have no idea what that means, or what this project is, from that description alone.

Note that the author also created the web2py web framework. I attended a presentation he gave on web2py at a PyCon in Chicago back in 2008-ish. He's an academic and has been making open source software for a long time.

I watched the video and really liked what I saw.

And today I learned web2py evolved into https://github.com/web2py/py4web.

Basically yet another live pendrive linux image with persistence?

Nice, but it doesn't really explain what's so unique about it.

If you like the idea of "self-contained OS on a USB drive with encrypted persistence", but don't want to entrust it to vibed-together projects that have been around for ~a month, there are other options, like Tails (which supports encrypted persistence) [1] or duct tape your own version together with any normal distribution (Debian, Fedora, Arch, etc) and LUKS.
