Also really enjoying Louis Maddox aka lmmx working on a very fast multi threaded bzip2, mibz2. Fun regular updates from someone deep into their stuff on social media is also rewarding.

I use a home grown multi-threaded unzip library in production at work built on top of zlib. Using 8 threads a typical unzip went from 30 secs to roughly 3 secs.
