BSD is a technologists lead. This story is a populist lead and uninformed in that same manner as populist news agencies telling us about hackers without knowing what a cracker is.

Interesting especially since this is written by the MIT press and BSD is obviously associated with Berkeley the histories in the BSD's of making source public.
