If there was a buggy of any type, kernel developers fixed that.

They weren't sitting there knowingly merging buggy code because yolo, or they couldn't be bothered, or the other guy wrote bugs so I can write bugs too.

These issues are human oversights, often about obscure disjointed codepaths or race conditions nobody anticipated or thought about.
