Perplexity Pro $17/month; perfect for this complete non-techie/normie. It appears after reading many comments that I'm the only person here using PP. How come?
You're not the only one using Perplexity Pro at $17 per month. And for what I've needed it to help me with, it has been fantastic.
I had installed ROCm (the AMD local LLM toolkit), and it turns out one of the tasks I wanted to do wouldn't work with my (somewhat older) video card. Llama.cpp had a dependency on HIP 6.1, but my hardware can only do HIP 5.7.
PP talked me through downloading the code from Github and running a command to remove everything newer than HIP 5.7 from the source code and then recompiling the whole thing.
It worked!
I am not a C programmer, but PP walked me through everything. It is astonishing. I'm old, so maybe I'm easily astonished, but man, PP has been superb at everything I've asked it to do.
