If you are American, it’s a “thrift store/thrifting”.

In the uk virtually all thrift stores are run by a well known charity and thus the locals call them charity shops.

Yes, Kringloop, Charity Shop, Sally Ann (Salvation Army) in the US, all similar things.

Second hand, usually donated goods, sold to fund a charity.

Are there no similar stores in the US?

They call them thrift stores. Goodwill is a huge chain that you can find everywhere.
