For me the incredible thing is that Win 11 has any users. Microsoft announced Win 10 as the last OS, with updates from there on out. I assume the only reason Win 11 came into existence was to change EULA for more tracking and ads. I certainly never saw anything about how 11 is this fundamentally different thing that 10 couldn't have been updated into, that's why I have to assume it's for legal / user-hostile reasons.

Everybody should have simply ignored them. Win 10 yes, whatever you're trying to pull with 11, no. What could MS have done about that? Threaten to end support and then relent when nobody takes the bait?
