They seemed to have been comfortable in the role of the main monopolist, extracting inane ammount of money from people directly or indirectly, all without most people really noticing.

Then like a year ago they seems to have turned batshit evil, doing stuff that does not really make them any more money, is highly visible, makes many people angry & gives munition to their competition not to mention anti-monopoly and digital sovereignty advocates.
